In honor of the late and great Magnus and Leona Goebel, I am starting THE YEAR THAT I LIVED

Sometimes it's easy to just go with the flow and forget the big ideas you have so here I am writing out my list of things I want to do for myself and others. (I've heard you are more likely to accomplish everything if you write it out)

First things first, any good mission needs a basis to work off of so mine is to follow along with MY PLAN TO NOT PLAN EVERYTHING.

I'm going to take everything as it comes; do what feels right at the time.

SPEAK

A lot like five except different language. The less you speak a language the more it slips away. I am "blessed" to work at a mall where Spanish is as common as English and I just happen to have a major in Spanish. Yet I caught myself the other day walking around the corner to find an associate that spoke Spanish. Yes, they are a native speaker so they have a much easier time, but dangit I need the practice so I am taking it into my own hands and using my customers to practice my Spanish and get fluent again ... as patchy as my speaking will be.

CHAT

The older you get the further your group of friends get and I've been blessed with great friends that are successful so we are all ending up far from each other. Skype is wonderful! It's always a mood lifter to call an old friend and catch up. It's amazing how a familiar face can help ground you. Love all my friends!

CRY

Whether it's because you're sad or happy, or just caught an episode of Extreme Home Makeover, it's good to just let it all out. No kleenex, no sleeve, just let it all out without holding back.

ADVENTURE

I am convinced the best things in life don't show up at your front door. Sometimes it's best to go outside of your box. Even if you aren't sure where you are going or if you didn't even mean to take the trip, open your eyes and realize your next great memory could be your next unplanned stop.

three.

YOGA

I've always loved running, but my knee is starting to act up (getting old hurts) so I am going to start a workout thats less harmful on my joints. I suppose I could use some alignment between mind, body and soul also. Any good suggestions for certain yoga workouts are welcome.

two.

BURN CANDLES

Sometimes you save things for "special occasions" but I'm going to stop waiting for "special occasions" and start burning my candles each day (yeah, thats a metaphor)

one.

VOLUNTEER

It sounds cliche and I know everyone tries to volunteer, but there is a great feeling that comes from doing something for someone else. I am a true believer in what goes around comes around and I feel I'm a pretty fortunate person so I'm going to continue giving my time (since resources are limited) and see what kind of good karma I can bring around.
One of my favorite was Girls on the Run that I did last summer, so I submitted my application to volunteer at a local school for the upcoming season. I have a feeling it might be a little more "involved" then the last school I did it at but it'll be a growing experience.
